Ash Wednesday — Renewal

Today is the day I begin a special journal,
dedicated to spiritual introspection and renewal,
sort of a slap in the face wake up call
to realign my energies to a peace
with where I live,  what I do, and whom I am with.

Because when I have those three major items
in line and true to who I am, my life,
no matter what the challenges,
always falls back together into harmony.

But naive as I am I opened the door
barely a crack and a double uppercut
slammed a nasty cold into my head
followed by a one-two-punch of a
whacking hacking cough cough.

Lesson number one.
The next time you go outside, Jim,
to scrape the windshield and warm up the car,
put on your hat and coat.

One Response to Ash Wednesday — Renewal

  1. Pull on a sweater, wrap a soft scarf around your neck, poke those fingers in warm gloves, pull that beret down over your ears, and above all remember that you have my love to keep you warm.

    Love, M. .
