7:07 AM, snow day images and
first draft ramblings.

Yikes, the chill on the floor spike
cold electricity up through my feet. I love it;
even the foggy moisture on my study window
a canvas to draw funny faces.
I love it

Tiny frozen drops
bring sixty-thousand pound trucks
to their knees.

Lounging in the Adirondack chairs
who are the friendly ghosts
arms covered with snow

I love a snow day,
white mittens on the spruce trees
the bird feeder’s white cap
ready for a fashion show.

Steam rising from the
heated fountain so the birds
can bathe in their spa.

Soon, orange glow in the east
and the doves will come to the tree
and shake down snow onto
the back of my neck, down my jacket,
I hope so.
