Morning Arrives. . .

Listen to the break of dawn, the
shell of heaven cracking open,
yolks of light edging out
against the blackness of night–
all you have to do is cup your hand,
light will fill it; feel the sizzle.

Listen, when the heart cracks open
love pours against the edges
of loneliness and unfulfilled desire–
reach out your handful of light to
your spouse, son, daughter, friends;
the light sizzles with your love.

Ah! Morning always arrives naked —
Ours — the privilege
to clothe the day with love.
