Poetry Post Cards

In the workshop we gave last Saturday, at the end of the day I passed out post cards with stamps on them, and asked the writers to send an “illuminated” Poetry Post Card to someone they love, without using the word love, with a short 6 to 10 word phrase — like, “You are the sunshine in my life.”  but with an original phrase of their own, and briefly illustrate it like an illumination in a medieval bible etc.  And so they did.

Poetry Post Cards (Valentines) are an easy yet personal and loving way to brighten someone’s day and to make your writing “real” — not something you stick in a desk drawer.

You could always send one to me, Jim Ciletti, 1215 N. Union, Colorado Springs, CO 80909.
