WHEN I SAY

WHEN I SAY

When I say I love you to the night sky
for bringing me stars and more stars
When I say I love you to the dawn light
breaking like an egg yolk
When I say I love you to the red-headed Finches
chirping and eating at the feeder
When I say I love you to the grape clusters
close to sweetness to make wine

When I say I love you to my friends far and near
When I say I love you to my wife and rub
lotion into her sore and tired feet
When I say I love you to our children and
grandchildren
When I say I love you as
I brush the gray hair of my 95-year-old Mother
When I say I love you
     I love you
     You
I am the richest man in the world.
